Our baby is 5 weeks old. Had bronchiolitis and therapy, screams but we don’t know why?

Our baby is 5 weeks old. Had bronchiolitis and had therapy for 7 days in hospital in Macedonia with lendacin and urbason. now his chest are ok but continues with pulmicord inhaling (26 days) and Cefaklor sirup (5 days).
I am desperate for help what can i do to help our baby not to have side effects or further complications. I read that when babies are so young it is more then possible to have later complications or serious illnesses. Sometimes he screams like hell and we don’t know why. He might be in pain. He seems lost now, confused and scared from all the hospitals and needles :((
Please please please advice, what to do to help him.

  1. Hi and welcome to question doctors.com
Usually a baby treated from bronchiololitils will be OK with no complications after 3 weeks.but monitoring is important as he may need to get a home oxygen therapy. Keep him highl
immunity by breast feeding …and hydration is crucial..

  2. Cefaklor will cause the weakness and confusion
    Which is a temporary drug
However the pulmicord is bad on the long run so you should consult your doctor periodically about when you can stop it
This drugs will weaken him yet you can not possibly stop them so keep up breast feeding and keep him warm
Your baby will be strong and pass this well
    Good Luck

  3. hi
the baby is too young t have the immunity to trackle this infection.
thats the reason for his crankiness.
    dehydration may be causing this.
adequate breast feeding and maintaining hydration is the key.
    thanks

  4. HI
USUALLY THIS IS EXPECTED AS THE BABY IS STILL IN A RECOVERING PHASE. DO NOT WORRY.
THE BABY WILL BE FINE IN A FEW DAYS. BREAST FEEDING SHOULD BE DONE ADEQUATELY

  5. hello there
the baby’s bronchus and wind pipes must be getting dry that may be causing it to get irritated. maintain moisture and humidity by nebulisation.
    consult a paediatrician.
