My mother in law has been ill for a month today. Feeling very tired.Loss of appetite ,when she does manage to eat a little she heaves and brings up frothy spittle. As a consequence of this she is becoming confused. She has had two trips to the hospital. she has had 2 ecg,s , 2 x.rays and 2 full blood counts and all came back normal. A doctor from her local surgery came this week and gave her some anti sickness tablets but nothing seems to be helping. She is 91 years old
In my opinion this could be either GI problem or hormonal disorder, get thyroid profile and abdominal USG done..
This can be Gastrointestinal block, I recommend an endoscopy , also when was her last stool?
a liver dysfunction or a gall bladder disease may be the underlying pathology.
get a ultrasound abdomen with HRCT done.
get liver function tests done.
Do here pelvi abdominal US and barium all through
Thanks for the query..
It looks like some disturbed functioning in the digestive system and can be ruled out with the help of abdominal ultrasound, colonoscopy etc..
Once the cause is ruled out then only it can be treated appropriately..
Hope this helps..
