My BF has Pericarditis, heart pains never last, now pain won’t go away?
My boyfriend has a heart condition called Pericarditis and the heart pains never last for long. He’s been complaining for the past few days that the pain won’t go away. Do you know what it might be ?

if the pain now is getting continuous and not going away then,he may have developed pericardial effusion,meaning accumulation of fluid around the heart. this usually happens as a complication of pericarditis and is usually associated with low immunity.
get his chest xray,ecg and an echocardiography done.

it may be acute exacrebation of pericarditis. this usually does occur with seasonal variations or related to stress and other associated concomittant health issues. the pain may also be due to any other chest related issue and needs to be ruled out by getting a xray of chest.
ecg of the heart will help in making out if the pain is related to pericarditis

PERICARDIAL PAIN IS USUALLY LOCATED IN THE CENTRE OF CHEST JUST BELOW STERNUM. IF HIS PAIN IS LOCATED AT THIS LOCATION THEN IT IS DUE TO ACUTE ON CHRONIC PERICARDITIS. HOWEVER ASSOCIATED OTHER CARDIAC CAUSES NEED TO BE RULED OUT BY FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS
That would be a complicated pericarditis case to pericardial effusion … An xray will show if it is really present.also let him do an ECG to rule out any cardiac complications
