My 10 year old daughter has had a stomach ache for a week…need your opinion?

my 10 year old daughter has had a stomach ache for a week. She feels hungry but when she eats she feels nauseated. Pediatrician could not find anything obvious so only prescribed ONDANSETRON anti nausea – what do you think is causing the stomache ache – ulcers or acid? Would it be okay to get a kid’s antacid like peptobismol or tom’s to relieve pain? How about tylenol.

  1. hi..
at her age, ulcers and acidity are not common.
it may be spasmodic pain, gaseous distention pain, indigestion pain or worms,

try deworming her with deworming medicines and give her anti spasmodic flatulents. if this doesnt help, then it would be better to get her usg abdomen done to see any internal pathology.
    thanks

  2. HI
THIS IS USUALLY DUE TO INDIGESTION RELATED ISSUES AND GAS TROUBLE. ANTACIDS AND ANTISPASMODICS WILL BE HELPFUL. ANTI FLATULENCE LIQUIDS WILL RELEASE THE ABDOMINAL PRESSURE
USG ABDOMEN SHOULD REVEAL ANY INTRA ABDOMINAL PATHOLOGY
