I suffer from a stage 3 cancer and cancer treatments are difficult, can medical marijuana help?

I have been undergoing chemotherapy for a stage 3 breast cancer and suffering from nausea and vomiting after every treatment, I have medications prescribed by my doctor that helps. But not enough. I heard that medical marijuana can help cancer patients. Please advise.

  1. Thanks for your question,

Medical Marijuana has been shown to help alleviate some of the reactions patients experience after receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy. But not all people experience the same effects from marijuana. So it can help. Just keep in mind that medical marijuana is not legal everywhere. In some states, provinces, regions and countries it is legal. In others it is not.

  2. Hi..
    Thanks for the query..

Medical Marijuana can help in improving the symptoms but many a times it can cause its own side effects..
Although Medical marijuana can reduce the side effects but still there is no sure shot evidence for it..
Also the availability can vary according to your location and whther it is legally permitted in your province..
So keeping all this in mind you can check with your oncologist and can take according to his consent only..

    Hope this helps..

    Regards..

  3. Also I would like to add that the dose is another consideration and if you take it at your own or after consulting your Oncologist then you should try to avoid overdose if you find it beneficial and relieving your symptoms..
You should be strict to the doses to avoid the fatal side effects of the same in place of useful effects.
Also any kind of smokable forms can be very harmful and should be strictly be medically prescribed..
    So take care..

  4. I have several patients that are using medical marijuana to reduce side effects and they seem to be very happy with the results. But best to have your oncologist supervise and approve doses and process.
