I have this small bump at the inner corner of my left eye, is it cancer?
Hi, I’m 31yo male. I have this small bump at the inner corner of my left eye(refer to the attached image). I noticed it around 2-3 years ago, it was very tiny at that time, so I didn’t bother it. But it definitely grows bigger after a while, although it doesn’t affect my daily life but I’m starting to feel its presence If I’m very focus.
It is absolutely painless, but I’m still very worry after seeing how much it grows in size. I would like know what it is, and is this thing cancerous?
it is certainly big in size, but cancer is less likely to be the diagnosis. it may be a hypertrophied lacrymal cyst/duct . but considering its size,it should not be neglected. you should consult a opthalmologist.
CANT SAY EXACTLY WHETHER ITS A CANCER JUST BY LOOKING AT IT. 50-50 % CHANCES THOUGH.
YOU CAN GET A BIOPSY OF THE LESION DONE AND SEND IT FOR HISTOPATHOLOGY TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS. DO NOT RUB OR EXCESSIVELY PRESS IT
it seems to be some sort of hypertrophied soft tissue mass, not necessarily a cancer though. go to a eye specialist and get it confirmed. it may also be a lacrymal gland cyst as it is normally located at inner canthus of eye. try not to rub it with any rough cloth. avoid it getting in contact with warm water
That looks like a sebaceous gland lesion which might be benign or malignant..while 80% of them are benign …this must be diagnosed by opthalamologist a biopsy will help
