I have severe constipation. I went to the hospital but no bowel movements since?
I’m 23 year old female, and I have severe constipation. I went to the hospital last Friday with pain and no bowel movement for five days prior, but while I was a the hospital had a bowel movement three time and was prescribed over the counter miralax and to follow up on Doctor. Had X-rays showed no bowel obstruction and blood work normal, had mild urine infection I started miralax over the counter packets Monday everyday , but no bowel movements since and it had been four days,my stomach is bloated,I’m Uncomfortable and my back hurts and my abdomen hurts too all over. What can I do or take to get some relief ? I have IBS,Panic disorder, asthma, low iron and I had gallbladder removed 4 months ago.The medications I take regularly are paroxetine 40 mg, clonazepam .5 mg, pantoprazole 20 mg, ondansetron 4 mg as needed, probiotic , vitamin D 5,000, Claritin over the counter, dymista nasal spray 137 mcg, xopenex HFA, Beta plus dietary supplement, daily multi vitamin with iron.
My opinion is it either side effects of ondansetron
Or you are having sever stress
Also the iron multivitamins can increase your constipation
Hi and welcome to question doctors.com
You should try making your intestine rich in water by
Drinking a plenty of water about 3litred daily
Eat fibers rich diet 5 meals of fiber daily ..
Olive oil is a natural laxative taken a spoon in mornings on a cup of water..
Motilium is good for you take a tablet 3times before meals..
Coloverin d is good for IBS and bloating.
this may happen due to anxiety or gases.
yoga and getting de-stressed will help you have natural bowel movements.
Drinking plenty of fruit juices and having fibre-rich diet can also help.
POSSIBILITY OF PARALYTIC ILEUS DUE TO ELECTROLYTE IMBALANCE SHOULD BE KEPT IN MIND. GET BLOOD ELECTROLTYE CHECKED.
TAKE LAXATIVE AND STOOL SOFTENERS
at your age, these complaints are not normal for sure. Something in the diet is going wrong. Try and increase the fibre content in blood. brisk walking daily and drinking plenty of water will help.
