I have rare sarcoid disease, probable lupus, suffer scalp/ears seborrhea that’s out of control?
46yo female I have autoimmune disease-rare form of sarcoid and probable lupus. In the last year I have had an impossible scalp/ears seborrhea that nothing will help and its spreading now to almost entire scalp. In the last 6 mos developed a couple of lesions; derm was slightly dismissive about my concerns of all this being related to my autoimmune processes. Bx showed psoriasform spongyatic dermatitis; now I am developing them everywhere….its like my skin is out of control. Are these problems likely systemic and related to the sarcoid or lupus?
hi
yes, these symptoms are definitely related to auto immune sarcoid / lupus. Only local creams wont help. a comprehensive approach in its treatment including lifestyle changes, de-stressing etc will be needed.
thanks
HI
AUTO IMMUNITY DOES PLAY A ROLE IN THESE SYMPTOMS,BUT ITS NOT THE ONLY THING. PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE LUPUS/SARCOID ALSO HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS.
LOCAL CREAMS,ESPECIALLY THOSE WHICH INCLUDE STEROID SHOULD BE HELPFUL.
A FEW DIET CHANGES ALSO CAN HELP
Hello there
Seborrhea itself has many reasons to occur but lupus and sarcoid and your autoimmune tendancy has aggravated the problems. U need aggressive treatment for seborrhea by local creams as well as systemic therapy
