I have on going dull knee pains for over two years?

I have on going dull knee pains for over two years, recently I had also had elbow, ankle and wrist pains also. Four days ago my knee (completely out of the blue no injury) began to feel extremely sore. I haven’t been able to straighten or fully bend it since Saturday. It feels like there is a balloon in my kneecap that I can burst.

Background: I am an extremely active dance teacher and studio owner. I have been diagnosed with hemochromatosis three years ago.

  1. The big joints inflammation is usually occuring with autoimmune disorders like Rheumatiod arthritis and systemic lupus..
İnvestigations will be able to show us what is going on.
    CRP is an initial test.
    Plain xray on the knee.
Knowing that Arthropathy and arthralgia are one of the complications of hemochromatosis it is advised to rule out other pathologies and having a close follow up with your doctor for the medications/diet for treating the iron toxicity.

  2. In my opinion hemochromatosis + dancing (repetitive jumping can cause meniscal injury described as ballon in knee can not fully flex or extend ) can explain your knee, hemochromatosis alone can explain the rest of your joints

I recommend a knee MRI to confirm, also focus on avoiding iron and vitamin c in diet , start therapeutic phlebotomy every 2 month or you can try iron chelation therapy (less effective ,less evasive )

    Good Luck

THIS IS DUE TO WEAKENING OF CARTILAGE OR SYNOVITIS.
    GET A BONE SCAN DONE.
CALCIUM AND VITAMIN D3 CAN HELP.
MRI OF KNEE WILL HELP TO RULE OUT ANY OLD KNEE LIGAMENT INJURY.
