I have halitosis, doctor says I have an H. pylori?
i am 30 years old, i have halitosis that comes from internal, because i have good mouth hygien, my tongue and my teeth are clean, i brush my mouth more then three times a day, and i don’t what happened my breath smells bad when i talk to my friend and family, i have been this for over 8 months, and had no any pain or problem, later weeks before i went to the hospital to ask a doctor, i was tested blood and stool, the doctor told me that i have an H. pylori, he prescribed me 32 capsule of antibiotics , anti acid syrup, and four Vitamin A, i used them and completed nothing still change, i have still the bad breath.
as far as i know, h pylori doesnt cause halitosis. There may be some other reason for it to occur. Get a gastroscscopy doen in which a camera is inserted inside your proximal stomach and exact diagnosis can be done. Consult a gastro enterologist. Liver function tests should be done
BILE SECRETION DERANGEMENTS CAN CAUSE HALOTOSIS. UPPER GI SCOPY AND USG/CT ABDOMEN WITH CONTRAST WILL HELP U FIGURE OUT THE EXACT CAUSE. BETADINE MOUTH GARGLES SHOULD HELP TEMPORARILY.
CONSULT A GASTRO ENTEROLOGIST
h pylori,if untreated or incompletely treated can cause halitosis. You seem to have taken the treatment of h pylori, but the effects of the medicnes will take time to show improvements. multi vitamin tablets should be continued for another 1 month
Hi and welcome to question doctors.
If your diagnosis with h.pylori is confirmed then it is definitely the cause of bad breath…
Although other causes may be present ..
Knowing that h.pylori is a stubborn bacteria that can not be treated easily..so you need to see your doctor again and get tested for blood and stool h.pylori …if it is still there then you will need to be treated with a stronger antibiotics course until it disappears …
Do not neglect it as it has many bad complications.
