I have blood in urine, convinced it could be cancer?

I’m 27 year old female who has for the past 3months during urine dipping for various reasons has had blood (sometimes protein) in my urine, it isn’t visible to the naked eye. I had a urine test again today and they have now told me they will be referring me to urology, of course I googled symptoms and now i have convinced my self it could be cancer. I have had period like aches in right side of abdomen on and off for months hence the visit to the doctors. And was treated for possible kidney infection back in August.
I’m really worried and stressing about this now as I don’t know how long I will have to wait.
Had bloods done last week that all came back negative and urine test show no sign of infection, please help.
Thank you

  1. Hi and welcome to question doctors.com
It is not cancer..you may be having kidney or bladder stones..
Kidney infection is still a possibility with the pain you are having now ..
Get a full USg of abdomen and pelvis.

  2. Why did you role out kidney or bladder stones ?
They can cause lacerations which cause this amount of blood also consistent with you right side pain
If u suspect cancer u need something to support it like for example frequent urination like twice every hour
    Cancers do not show such
    pain easly nor quickly
Check for crystalized minirals in your urine test
    Good Luck

  3. HI
STONES OR PYELONEPHRITIS SEEMS TO BE MORE LIKELY. CANCER POSSIBILITY IS RARE. GET USG OF ABDOMEN DONE. URINE NEEDS TO BE CHECKED FOR CULTURE OR SENSITIVITY.

  4. Hi. Please take it from me. I am 36, a male and South Asian. I had four bouts of gross hematuria and had ‘Numerous’ RBC in my urine from April till June this year. The USG of Kidney, Ureter and Bladder did not find any stones. I had a bunch of other tests done. I was convinced I have bladder cancer.

Then in August, after some burning, I passed out a nearly 2mm stone from my penis.

So, please dont give up on life yet.
