I have a mole on my legs is it a cancerous mole? admin Posted on Posted in Dermatology, Medical Questions 4 Comments Tagged with is it a cancerous mole Female age 45. No major past medical history. Attached photo of a mole -upper leg near crease to hip area. – occasional itching – itched it a couple months ago and seemed to get bigger when it grew back. Does this look like a cancerous mole?
The photograph isn’t clear, but still, from what i can see,it does not seem to be a cancerous mole. The presentation, texture and appearance of a cancerous mole is different from that you have.
The margins of the mole are also well defined, which is a characteristic of a non cancerous mole.
THERE ARE 50-50 % CHANCES OF THE MOLE BEING CANCEROUS. YOU SHOULD KEEP A WATCH ON ITS SIZE AND COLOUR. IF IT GROWS RAPIDLY IN SIZE OR THE SKIN CHANGES DRASTICALLY THEN IT MAY TURN INTO CANCEROUS LESION. A DERMATOLOGIST WILL BE IN A BETTER POSITON TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.
Hi and welcome to question doctors.com
A growing mole is an issue that needs urgent consultation by a dermatologist …please consult one ASAP
it seems to be a pre-cancerous mole,if not cancerous. A biopsy and a histopathology study of the lesion will help you confirm about this. A laser treatment will be beneficial in treating it effectively.
do not apply anything warm /hot over the mole.
