I have a cerbaseous cyst on my back that has developed an infection?
Male 65 .. I have a cerbaseous cyst on my back that has developed an infection … Swollen, red, warm, extremely painful to the touch. Can’t get into the Dr for a week. He will not give me any advice over the phone other than warm compress. I saw online Fluconazola would be an antibiotic to treat the infection. I have sealed packs of Fluconazola exp date 12/2018 but cannot find a dosage amount. I used the Fluconazola before without any complication for skin tinnea(SP?) and had these on hand for future possible flare ups. What would be a proper dosage to start eliminating the infection?
Fluconazola is antifungal , I do not see how it can help, actually warm compression is advisable , antibiotics like penicillin or cephalosporin can help if you are not allergic to them
That is really another issue..infected sebaceous cyst should be surgicallyremoved until then.. Antibiotic orally for example amoxicollin 1gm every 12 hours can help..
flucanazole will not help.
take anti inflammatory tablets with fibrinolytic properties like paracetamol, trypsin, chymotrypsin etc.
Start on broad spectrum antibiotics like amoxy-clav,cefuroxime.
Mechanical drainage of the pus should be done for faster recovery.
i think u got confused bet, fulconazole and Flucloxacillin
U need an antibiotic .. fluclozacillin 250 mg every 6 hours – 4 times- a day for 7 days
Ibuprofen will be helpful aswell
But surgical removal can be the only solution
