I had inguinal hernia surgery (laparoscopic), pain hasn’t gone away?

I had inguinal hernia surgery (laparoscopic) on Nov 17th. I have been experiencing testicular and scrotum pain for about 2 months. My doctor said it will go away in three months, ever I feel that it is getting worse. It’s been hurting after I masturbate and light exercise, which I have since stopped, however the pain does not go away. I can’t do normal things like shopping without the pain in my scrotum. Is this normal or is something else going on? I was told that masturbation does not cause the pain, but I know it does. Will this pain ever go away?

  1. hi,
i doubt if the surgery was properly performed.
ideally, you should not having any sort of pain after 2 months of surgery.
i suggest you to get a second opinion from another gastroenterologist.
    get a CT abdomen done.
    thanks

  2. In my opinion this pain is separate from the expected post hernial repair..
Pain on masturbation can be caused by testicles problem that need an examination and testicle USG for diagnosis..

  3. Hi
Neuroma of the ilioinguinal, iliohypogastric, or genitofemoral nerve
So my opinion is wait 1 more month if no improvement then surgical approach is recommended to resection the neuroma
In other words I recommend you see a neurologist
    Good Luck
