I am ill for two years with gastro issues, sweating, weight loss, thick phlegm?

I have not been well for two years with gastro issues, sweating, weight loss, thick phlegm. In fact a lot of the symptoms point to some form of autonomic neuropathy. I also have thick phlegm and a strange tickling sensation in my chest. A low dose ct was clear in Feb 2016, but I am worried about sclc causing paraneoplastic autonomic neuropathy with the tumor being too small to appear on CT. Am I being silly? I am male 49.

  1. Hi and welcome to careproper.com
The symptoms you stated are common in many cases so it is not necessarily a tumor..taking about 2 years for a tumor to stay invisible in CT does not make sense..
Please state how many kilograms have you lost in a year?
    Are you a smoker?
    Is there any other symptom?
    Describe your gastric issues?

These symptoms may be due to GERD reflux disease ,hiatal hernia and bronchitis …and cystic fibrosis and others. Where do u live also…

  2. Hi
Any neoplastic or a paraneoplastic lesion causing so many symptoms for 2 years, should definitely be detected by an CTscan. I dont think you have it if its not seen on a CT. This should be more of immunity lowering generalised disease. The root cause needs to be found out though. Get a detailed blood profile done to find out the exact diagnosis.
    Thanks

  3. HI
YOU SHOULD GET A DETAILED BLOOD INVESTIGATION DONE TO FIND OUT AS TO WHAT HAS BEEN CAUSING THESE SYMPTOMS FROM ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW. IT DOES SEEM TO BE A MULTI-ORGAN ISSUE,AFFECTING ALMOST ALL THE ORGANS OF THE BODY. NON HODGKINS LYMPHOMA AND SIMILAR DISEASES NEED TO BE RULE OUT

  4. hello there
if the symptoms have been for so long, then you do have a point. the possibility of paraneoplastic autonomic neuropathy should be considered. Other possibilities too should be kept in mind. Well, a ct can pick up lesions as tiny as a peanut. You can go for an mri to confirm it
