Have been to emergency twice with vagina pain, they don’t know why I’m experiencing this?

Hello, I’m 18 years old and have been into the Emergency room twice with pain in my vagina. It started out with just burning when I urinated but has since escalated into something else. The first trip I made into the ER, I was told I had a simple UTI. I was put on Cephalexin for 7 days but was told to return in 48hrs if my symptoms have not subsided. I ended up having more symptoms such as raw feeling, extreme tenderness, discharge, and swelling in my vagina. I returned back into the ER and was told I do not have a uti but they don’t know why I’m experiencing this. They did a vaginal exam and everything came back normal. What could possibly be going on?!

  1. Hi and welcome to questiondictors.com
This probably is vulvovaginitis an inflammation or infection of the vulva and vagina. It’s a common condition that affects women and girls of all ages, and it has a variety of causes..
The most common cause is bacteria. The following can also cause vulvoganitis:
    yeast
    viruses
    parasites
    environmental factors
    sexually transmitted infections
    exposure to allergens
    chemical irritants
you may be able to treat vulvovaginitis using over-the-counter products available at any pharmacy. Vaginal creams, suppositories, topical ointments, and oral pills are available to treat vulvovaginitis. Crushed garlic and coconut oil..
Wear cotton under wears and keep the area clean with regular washing …without soap

  2. HI
THIS SEEMS TO BE A VAGINAL INFECTION AND NOT UTI.
INSERT VAGINAL ANTI FUNGAL PESSARIES,MAINTAIN PROPER VAGINAL HYGIENE.
CONSULT GYNECOLOGIST IF SYMPTOMS DO NOT IMPROVE
