Bumps in my throat, could it be laryngitis, an std or throat cancer?

Hello I am a 20 year old female. I have the same sexual partner for 4 years and an ENT doctor looked through with an endoscopy and said it was reflux laryngitis. It has been 1 month since I have noticed it & it has not left. It feels like bumps & looks like the same size, never grew. But I feel stuff caught in the back as well when I swallow but it does not hurt. I have tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia & waiting for results back. I have a picture attached. Could it be laryngitis, an std or throat cancer? Please help.

  1. hi
it feels like you have reflux laryngitis. the redness and the growth are less likely to be a cancer. about the stds, there are chances if you indulge in oral sex. you should wait till your reports are ready. but for me,its more of reflux laryngitis.
    thanks

  2. Hi and welcome to question doctors.com
This is not cancer mostly… There is an irritant causing the red bump on your throat it could be acid reflux or other irritant..what you need to do is
Firstly, you should make sure that you keep yourself hydrated as this would ensure that your immune system stays strong. Secondly, you should do some gargles with salt water in order to flush away any bacteria or debris that may have found home over your tonsils. Any inflammation would also be reduced by the salt which is an added benefit. These are general treatments and if your condition doesn’t improve with these measures, the doctor may need to conduct some tests to find out the root cause and then to adopt a course of treatment for that particular cause.

  3. HI
LARYNGITIS ACTUALLY SHOULD NOT LAST FOR A MONTH. WITH APPROPRIATE TREATMENT,IT USUALLY GETS CURES IN 5-10 DAYS. DO GET TESTED FOR STDS. IN CASE OF DOUBT,BIOPSY OF THE LESION CAN BE DONE TO CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS

  4. hello there
feels like chronic laryngitis. cancer does not seem to be a possibility here as you do not have any systemic effects or symptoms like weight loss, etc. if you do not take proper care while having sex, then stds can present in this way.

  5. Hey,
Looks like laryngitis it can be acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term).
    Gargling salt water.
    Eat honey.
    Drink plenty of water.
    Breathe moist air.
    Avoid smoking, and second-hand smoke.
    Limit caffeine and alcohol.

  6. Did you ever find out what it was?
