Both arms begin to tingle starting in my shoulder and moves down to my hands like my arms have fallen asleep?
Male. 57 years old. 205 lbs
For a month or so , multiple times a day both arms begin to tingle starting in my shoulder and moves down to my hands like my arms have fallen asleep. Sometimes it is just my right arm and the sensation is always stronger in my right arm. It happens no matter what position my body is in ; I.e. Sitting up, lying down , walking etc
In my opinion you have multiple level cervical spondylitis , you can do a ct scan to confirm , you will also notice that tingling increase after rest or sleep , and goes away with movement
You can try home postural adjustment by improving your round shoulder ( strech you pectoralis major muscle and strength your back muscles )
Also ( avoid forward head by streching your neck extensors and strength your neck flexors)
Avoid looking upgwards or neck rotation
If you do not improve enough then you can do physical therapy which will be effective in this early stage
Good Luck
If you came to my clinic with those symptoms I will think about cervical disc lesion or arthritis ..
Get a xray and or MRI done so we can rile out abnormalitis
hi
these are classical symptoms of a nerve compresion in the cervical spine.
it can be due to cervical slipped disc or cervical spondylitis.
get MRI neck done.
use cervical collar.
thanks
HI
CERVICAL SPONDYLITIS SHOULD BE THE DIAGNOSIS.
AGRESSIVE PHYSIO IN THE FORM OF CERVICAL TRACTION AND LASER THERAPY WILL BE BENEFICIAL.
hello there
this can be due to nerve stretching and inflammation.
if you have lifted anything heavy or if you use pillows under ur neck while sleeping, this is a common symptom.
avoid pillows,take physiotherapy.
