A few months ago i started to noticed that my eyes was starting to get puffy?

hi, i’m 23 years old, i’m 5’7 and 116 pounds. a few months ago i started to noticed that my eyes was starting to get puffy and i’ve got bad eye bags. it got worse every day and now i have horrible puffy eye bags. i also have extreme sensitive eye and when i am out i always feel like i’m completely tired, out of my self, without strength and my eyes are really heavy. i eat 2000 calories a day (mostly vegetable with legumes, chicken, protein, yogurt and fruits) i drink a lot of water and i exercise 6 times a week. i don’t drink alchool, i don’t smoke or eat salt. i’m desperate. even when i was skinnier i never had eye bag, and i was anorexic. i don’t understand what is happening. i’ve done a lot of blood exams but it’s everything normal except for my period that after anorexia is never came back.

  1. In my opinion you should run some tests specially for kidney function test ..then how long your period is absent? Eye puffiness could be due to water retention secondary to hormonal disorder which may be also causing the period disoreder, how long haven’t you got it?

  2. Hi
In my opinion this could be hypothyroidism or renal problem or simply your dinner is rich is sodium
I recommend doing thyroid profile test ,
Urine analysis and GFR , also try to avoid salt for few days
    Good Luck

  3. hi,
this can be onset of a renal disease.
get kidney function tests- Serum creatinine, blood urea levels and renal ultrasound.
Other hormonal changes, cardiac related causes and hypoproteinemia need to be ruled out.
    thanks

  4. Is there any odema in your legs or else where

    When was it last period???

  5. Hi..
    Thanks for the query..

Well, the symptoms can be due to hormonal imbalance most probably as you also have irregular mensus, while other causes can be water retention caused due to excessive hot weather, eating too salty food, renal problems etc..

At times it can also be due to lack of sleep, stress, allergies or heredity..

So my suggestion is to consult a Physician and get evaluated and investigation like renal profile, hormonal profile etc can be done for confirmation of cause..

As of now take salt in considerable limit, avoid stress, do cool packs over eyes and take sufficient sleep..
Multivitamin tablet can be taken daily..

    Hope this information helps..

    Regards..
